Cookies

EddiesPDF uses your browser's local storage to make the app work smoothly - this is similar to a cookie, but stored differently. Here's what we use it for:

Preferences

We remember your choice of light or dark mode, and your selected language, so you don't have to set them again each time you visit.

Session data

When you open a file to edit, we temporarily hold its data in your browser's storage so the editor can work with it. This data stays on your device and is cleared when no longer needed.

Recent Files (signed-in users)

All PDF tools process your file entirely in your browser. If you're signed in and use the Recent Files feature, a copy of that file may be temporarily retained on our servers for up to 10 minutes so it can appear in your history, after which it is automatically and permanently deleted. This does not apply if you're not signed in.

Authentication

If you sign in, Firebase (our authentication provider) uses cookies or similar technology to keep you signed in between visits.

Managing this

You can clear your browser's local storage at any time through your browser's own settings. Doing so will sign you out and reset saved preferences, but won't affect files stored elsewhere (like Google Drive).
